Grandparents visit

Cory's grandparents and his dad all made their annual trek up from SLC and Pheonix to visit us in July. We celebrated the 4th of July with them by spending the day in Duvall with our Friends Shane, Julie, Sam and Max. Their neighborhood has a fantastic kid friendly parade and party to celebrate the 4th.

Sydney does everything at her own pace. Even parades!

We also enjoyed a Mariner's Baseball game while the grandparent's were in town.

Fortunately, Sydney still managed to get in a nap!

Fun in the Sun

Summer finally came to Seattle at the end of June. Poppy and Shelby decided to break out the slip 'n slide (and occasionally we allowed Siena to play on it too!)

Fremont Fair

We went to the Freemont Fair in June and checked out lots of arts and crafts and some really crazy cars!

Siena even got to plant her own basil seed to take home!

Sydney's 2nd Birthday

Sydney Turns Two!

Sydney wasn't so sure about everybody singing "Happy Birthday" to her at the Spaghetti Factory. Mostly she just wanted to get eating her ice cream!

Both girls were excited about the birthday presents. Fortunately they are fairly good about sharing! (For now...)

In June, Siena had her dance recital.

It was very entertaining for us all!

Prior to the recital, Siena and Sydney did some nice posing for pictures.

Just because Sydney was not in costume did not mean she couldn't try to be the center of attention!

After the recital, Siena received a celebratory hug from her adoring little sister!

South Carolina

In May we went to South Carolina for my cousin Kassia's wedding.

Siena was the perfect little flower girl. (with her little sister Syndey always following close behind!)

Shelby was also in the wedding as one of the bridesmaids.

The reception was in a lodge right on the beach!

We stayed for a full week in S. Carolina which allowed us time to visit with family and relax and really enjoy ourselves. We stayed at a cottage near the beach. As you can see, the girls had a blast playing on the beach.



In fact, we all had fun on the beach (notice Cory doing a nice body board dive in the background)

Until Cory's toe met the hard sand and broke! Ouch!

Poppy and G-ma came with us which allowed Shelby and Cory to "escape" one afternoon to a local winery (not pictured becuase it was too horrible to mention any further - turns out there is a reason there is only ONE winery in South Carolina!) and we visited a tea plantation that had excellent tea (and did a fine job getting rid of the awful taste created by the wine tasting).

We also managed to get in some siteseeing by going on a horse drawn carriage ride in Charleston and took a tour at Magnolia Plantation.

All-in-all, we had a great family vacation!
